    The 13th European Nutrition Conference will take place in Dublin, Ireland from 15th - 18th October 2019. The theme of of this years FENs will be 'Malnutrition in an obese world‘. The Editors-in-Chief of EJCN have selected this collection of articles, which they think reflect this theme and highlight the great research being published in the journal. We hope you enjoy.

    This years ESPEN is about 'Nutrition - a highway to health’. As reflected from the present collection of articles published between 2017 and 2019 in EJCN that 'highway' is not only about individual nutrients, foods or dietary patterns, it is also about sustainability and a new agriculture addressing, both, the nutritional as well as the ecological aspects of our diets. In addition, going on on this 'highway to health' challenges some of today's cultural, social, economic and political issues. Thus, nutrition has become a hot and central topic to be addressed for a better future of human health, of our societies and of our planet.

    This supplement is a selection of papers presented at the XI Barcelona International Mediterranean Diet Conference that took place in Barcelona, Spain on April 27-28, 2016 within the framework of the International Food and Beverage Exhibition, Alimentaria 2016.
