Review Series - Hypertension with Diabetes Mellitus
Many diabetic patients have hypertension, and hypertensive patients also have higher rates of diabetes than non-diabetic controls. Both diseases interrelate closely and their co-existence can increase the risk of complications. Although lifestyle and genetic factors are known to contribute, our understanding of the disease remains incomplete. In this series, review articles on topics such as pathophysiology, complications, management and therapies for hypertension with diabetes mellitus are collected to promote the development of efficient treatment for the diseases.
