    Hypertension Research Award was established in 2010 to recognize significant contributions of researchers to the advancement of researches in hypertension and related studies. Among the first or main authors of the articles published in Hypertension Research, official journal of JSH, the journal’s editorial committee members select winners.

    Many diabetic patients have hypertension, and hypertensive patients also have higher rates of diabetes than non-diabetic controls. Both diseases interrelate closely and their co-existence can increase the risk of complications. Although lifestyle and genetic factors are known to contribute, our understanding of the disease remains incomplete. In this series, review articles on topics such as pathophysiology, complications, management and therapies for hypertension with diabetes mellitus are collected to promote the development of efficient treatment for the diseases.

    Articles on hemodynamic abnormalities, including hypertension during pregnancy have been drawing increasing interest. Considering this social and academic background, the editorial office has planned this Review Series, Pregnancy-induced Hypertension to deepen insights into the topic and provide valuable information for improving blood pressure management and the consequent prognosis for mothers and neonates in the perinatal period and beyond.

    White Coat Hypertension Review Series, published from 2014 to 2015 in Hypertension Research(HR), featured the White Coat Hypertension, or White Coat Syndrome as its main topic. It is a phenomenon in which patients' blood pressure becomes higher in the clinical or medical environment than in the normal setting. This Web Focus is a collection of review articles that introduce different studies and its suggestions on white coat Hypertension. They are all specially-solicited for this review series.
