ABOUT THE SOCIETIES

The Society for Investigative Dermatology (SID) was established in 1938 and has over 2000 members worldwide. The SID established Journal of Investigative Dermatology (JID) in the same year, and it has served as a critical educational vehicle for the society.

The SID's aim is to be the pre-eminent organization for the science of skin health and diseases. The society seeks to promote a culture of discovery and serve as the premier forum for the exchange of scientific information relating to dermatologic research. The SID encourages building cross-disciplinary bridges to provide leadership in attaining intellectual, political, and financial support for skin-related scientific investigation.
