In an attempt to increase our understanding of the impact of Kidney International and Nature Clinical Practice Nephrology, the ISN and NPG have decided to implement a service to ensure that our journals are part of a ranking system that provides valuable information to maximize the potential for online advertising sales within the United States. These sales are an important source of non-subscription revenue for many of our journals.

The Nielsen survey, NetRatings, will soon be installed onto the Kidney International and Nature Clinical Practice Nephrology journal websites to help us better understand our readership. The survey will pop-up randomly to a small percentage (5–10%) of unique users, and is designed to gather demographic and usage information, to provide an independent ranking of journal websites for use primarily by media agencies.

We ask our international members and readers for your understanding that this service is relevant only to users in the United States and apologize for the inconvenience. Our members in the United States and readers are strongly encouraged to provide responses to the surveys whenever it appears.
