Nature.com service alert-update
13 February 2007
The nature.com website has had periods of instability over the past few weeks due to an increase in traffic to the site. This has caused the backend database that manages access to content to stop responding to requests. The nature.com technical team has increased capacity by adding additional web servers and optimizing database queries. We have seen improvements in performance since these changes were made. However, there are still occasional problems during peak traffic times and additional upgrades are being applied to help stabilize the site.
One of the results of these problems was that site license customers were intermittently not being recognized as subscribers, and receiving an Access message. We apologize for any confusion this has caused. Please contact Customer Service to report any specific instances at your institution.
