Nature Publishing Group to produce online videos of Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting

Nature Publishing Group and the Foundation Lindau Nobelprizewinners Meetings at Lake Constance have signed an agreement to collaborate in the production of online videos of this year's Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting on chemistry, being held this week in Lindau on Lake Constance (www.lindau-nobel.de).

In partnership with Nature Publishing Group, specialist publishing services provider The Charlesworth Group has completed a substantial project to incorporate eXtensible Metadata Platform (XMP) metadata within online PDFs for the leading science journal Nature.

Nature maintains its position as the number one weekly science journal, with a new Impact Factor of 31.434. Nature Publishing Group (NPG) publishes 16 of the top 50 journals in the 2008 JCR, twice as many as any other scientific publisher.
Bright start for Nature Photonics with first Impact Factor

Nature Photonics' first Impact Factor of 24.982 clearly demonstrates the importance of this new title. The journal ranks first in both the optics and applied physics categories of the Science Edition of the 2008 Journal Citation Report (JCR).
Scientific American forms consumer media division of Nature Publishing Group

This week the Scientific American team will join their Nature Publishing Group (NPG) colleagues in the existing NPG offices in Varick Street, New York City. The office move marks a major step in the integration of two of Macmillan Publishers' most dynamic publishing units. Scientific American will form the heart of a new consumer media division at NPG.
Nature Publishing Group allows data- and text-mining on self-archived manuscripts

NPG today announces a newly signed publishing agreement with the Chinese Society of Immunology (CSI) and the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Cellular & Molecular Immunology (CMI) is the flagship international journal of CSI and USTC.

Darwin-themed island launches in Second Life

The Elucian Islands, the Second Life home of Nature Publishing Group and Macmillan Publishers, today celebrates the launch of a new Charles Darwin - themed island. The lush re-creation of South America and the Galapagos Islands includes a Second Life-scale replica of HMS Beagle and an interactive, educational game, Notes from the Voyage.
