Climate war games
Role-play negotiations test the outcomes of global warming.
More than 40 negotiators from Asia, Europe and the United States converged on Washington DC last week for what was billed as the first major war game involving global warming.
The Center for a New American Security, a Washington-based national-security think tank, gathered together climate scientists and experts in security, environmental policy and business for the role-playing exercise.

Perhaps the best strategy is to identify opportunities by which each of us can address the problem in a personal way, vis-a-vis what governments can do to help the emerging technologies along. Shifting the focus to maximizing economic opportunity, by supporting the development and proliferation of new technologies, might be the only way to effectively address a problem this enormous. I don't believe there will ever be any useful solution, if the main vision is of strategic positioning by nation-states.
This "group" meeting is an exercise in frutility!!! & MONEY.\ There are MANY people who have called this A "fad" (without merit,) than the "acceptive" (all think alike) group that gather here. Certainly a waste of time & money trying to promote their agenda ) Most people of science & regular thinking folks know that MAN CANNOT CONTROL THE SOLAR SYSTEM! Many, over 30,000 science folks & millions of logical people know this phony movement & is scarier than any fad to come along, AS IT HAS NEVER BEEN ABOUT WARMING, BUT SOLELY ABOUT TOTAL CONTROL OF EVERYTHING FOR THE REGULAR PEOPLE & OVER WHAT THEY CAN & CANNOT DO. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT MORE POWER OF A FEW --OVER CITIZENS. IN FACT, MANY, WELL RESEARCH PAPERS HAVE ADMITTED THAN, IF POLITICAL FOLKS PASSED ALL THE LAWS & RULES OF BEHAVIOR AND SPEND TRILLIONS, ABSOLUTELY, NO ONE CAN PREDICT IT WOULD CHANGE ONE THING EXCEPT: RUIN THE ECONOMY, LIFE STYLE, NEGATATE ANY CHOICE FOR INDIVIDUALS, DESTROY BUSINESS'S, HUGE JOB LOSS, PLACE CIVILIZATION BACK 50 YEARS OF MORE, ETC. IT IS A MOVEMENT FOR THE ELITE TO CONTROL ALL CITIZENS, BY FORCE. ALREADY, SOME RULES & REGULATIONS & COST OF GAS ARE RUING AUTO COMPANIES, AIRLINES, FOOD COST, AT THIS TIME. THIS MOVEMENT IS ALL ABOUT EMOTIONAL "FEEL GOOD" STATEMENTS TO ENLIST "VOLUNTER AGREEMENT", WHICH DISCOURAGES ANY REASONABLE CONVERSATION. PRESIDENT OF CHECZ. STATED, (AFTER LIVING UNDER COMMUNISM, THAT THIS MOVEMENT IS MUCH MORE FRIGHTING. IT IS ALL ABOUT TOTAL CONTROL OF PEOPLE & WHAT THEY WILL BE '''ALLOWED TO DO''''. HAS ZERO TO DO WITH ANY CLIMATE. RECENT RESEARCH NOW IS SHOWING, PLANT IS NOW COOLING MODE. IF ONE FOLLOWS THIS, THEY EITHER OR ILL INFORMED & EMOTIONAL OR THEY ARE PART OF THE COMPANIES, SET TO MAKE BILLION OFF THE PHONY MOVEMENT. SO, IN EFFECT, MOVEMENT WILL DESTROY LIFE CHOICES & CITIZENS WILL PAY TONS MORE FOR LESS OF EVERYTHING. ABSOLUTELY, THE MOST ANTI-LOGIC "FAD" TO APPEAR IN QUITE SOME TIME.

When Everyone thinks the same, someone are not thinking at all. The climate change is considered a fact, but what is the reason??? No one thinks outside the box, maybe except Henrik Svensmark. The Milankovitch cycles has been ruled out even the fact they worked 1000 years ago when Greenland was green. TorG
We need to address this urgently and now. Everyone must do their part. I will not change what I do, but I urge you to change the way you do things. I will continue to clearcut m property and demand that those around me do too. You should let yours develop an eco-cosm to offset mine. I fear the large transport trucks so I will still drive a SUVee but you should get a twofour and drive that. I pledge to do everything I can to combat this, but not in my back yard. Please do what YOU can.
Huh? I thought this was a a place where science was discussed. It's good to see commenters here "thinking for themselves". (I had no idea the we didn't control the universe) Hint: It starts with "thinking". Have a nice day.
The issue has been a subject of debate without a single approach path towards solution. True, humans were made the custodians of the NATURE that has been created for his enjoyment. The underlying 'terms' on control which perhaps was in small print, seem to have been neglected by the custodians. Although the discrete responsibility of control lies with 'HUMANS', lack of realisation eventually has complicated the issue to such an extent that it attracts a holistic approach that warrants greater commitment which I am afraid may be a distant dream owing to diverse interests.
