Virus helps to build tiny battery

Simple technique could create power packs for microdevices.

A virus has helped to create a new type of tiny battery, made with a simple stamping technique, that could power miniature devices.

Electronic devices used for controlled drug delivery, or to power tiny lab-on-a-chip applications, need to get their power from somewhere.

  • Truly amazing...and more proof of my contention that viruses were the first nanoengineers! Now: directed nanocircuitry that can do sophisticated things electronically...??

  • This is a fascinating article, and shows how far our scientists can move forward........it makes passe' the phrase: "We can go to the moon, but we can't........". This is a truly amazing development. I am not a scientist but am forwarding this article to a number of scientist friends that are involved in bio-molecular and medical fields, one in particular who is using nanotechnology in his development of a cure for cancer. Thank you for publishing this fine article.
