Dark energy: the quest for galaxies
South Pole Telescope offers fresh view of Universe's expansion.
Astronomers searching for evidence of the mysterious energy that is speeding up the expansion of the Universe have discovered three new galaxy clusters. They used a microwave survey technique that could rival existing ways of searching for dark energy.

It seems to me that dark energy is the "phlogiston" of "post-modern" cosmology. There are cosmological topologies that appear to explain the expansion acceleration, which are consistent with GR, but really haven't been extensively considered. E.g. - the interior solutions of non-stationary axi-symmetric Kerr-type space-times. It is sad to note that researchers here are still with their blinkers on. Many observations now have also raised serious doubts on the crucial assumption that redshifts actually are caused by universal expansion. Are these critical findings conveniently ignored (and any "fudge factor" shamelessly resorted to) because they could affect grants already in the pipeline for ?dark energy? research? Universe: Expanding or Contracting? I believe the process must be 'so slow' that in frequency length it ought outlive our human and technological memory. In other words this must be a long term process that our current technological and human life cannot apprehend. So, indicators such as redshift light would simply be short term indices catching only distance differentials of others galaxies to ours (Mother Earth). Therefore research efforts should be geared towards finding new indices that could tell the story better, that is a 'now' speaking for the 'Likely Infinity'.

Where are the a priori universal measuring rods of space and time? Einstein himself questioned the spacetime continuum basis of GR late in life. The alternative is a discontinuous universe in which space and time are defined a posterior by the relationship of the internal spherical space of the primary atom to the orthogonal linear space defined by the transmission of light from within atomic processes. Space and time are quantized according to light transmission in each synchronous projection of atomic matter that universally links atoms up externally. There is an article at www.cosmic-mindreach.com entitled, Gravity, Quantum Relativity & System 3 that provides a direct transparent derivation of the Lorentz transformations and goes into how so-called Dark Energy appears to restrain gravity. Another website article Unified Theories, Fantasy & Cosmic Order is a good introduction and review of the problems associated GR and QM, and the requirements implicitly associated with an alternative discontinuous universe.
