Translating NK biology to the clinic:
a joint mission of Innate Pharma & Novo Nordisk
Novo Nordisk, Denmark, and Innate Pharma, France, have joined forces to realize first-in-class, protein-based pharmaceuticals that target receptors on natural killer (NK) cells. In close collaboration with leading academic institutions all over the world, the partnership aims to develop new treatment paradigms in immunotherapy by modulating NK cells. So far, the partnership has resulted in the world's first therapeutic monoclonal antibody targeting inhibitory killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIRs) that is now being tested in the clinic. Additional projects targeting other NK receptors are in preclinical development.
Innate Pharma, the innate immunity company, is a biotech listed on Euronext. Based on its unique products intended for treatment of cancer and immune-related disorders, as well as its R&D expertise in γδ T cells, NK cells and TLR-expressing cells, Innate Pharma intends to become a leading player in immunotherapy.
