Access to the site
Some editorial content is freely available without restrictions.
Some content is free but requires registration. The registration process should only take a few minutes.
Full access to the editorial content requires either a personal subscription or a site licence. If you already have a personal subscription, you need to register to activate your access to the web site.
If your library does not have a print subscription or site licence, you can recommend this journal to your library.
You may also purchase online access to individual articles.

General information about Nature Materials is available.
Research papers are published online before they appear in print. New papers are normally uploaded every Sunday to the Advance Online Publication (AOP) page. The online publication date is specified for each paper; these versions are identical to the printed version in every respect and may be cited using the digital object identifier (DOI).
The complete issue is published online around the first of each month.

Journalists may sign up to receive weekly press releases and to obtain access to forthcoming papers in Nature Materials (and other NPG publications) about one week ahead of publication, while they are still under embargo. This service is provided through the Nature journals' press site, use of which requires advance registration through the NPG press office in London.
