It has been drawn to our attention that a successful pregnancy in a goat carrying a genetically identical conceptus has previously been reported1; complete immune compatibility was demonstrated between the mother and her kid twin (both generated by splitting a single embryo). These findings also indicate that a maternal immune response is not necessary to support a healthy pregnancy.
