About the Editors
Chief Editor: Alexandra Le Bras
Alexandra did her PhD at the Institute of Biology in Lille, France, where she studied the transcriptional and epigenetic mechanisms regulating endothelial gene expression. She then conducted postdoctoral research, investigating vascular development in stem cell and mouse models (Harvard Medical School, USA) and working on gene and cell therapy approaches for cardiovascular disease (King’s College London, UK). Before joining LabAnimal in February 2019, she was Locum Associate Editor at Nature Reviews Cardiology for a year.
Associate Editor: Jorge Ferreira
Jorge carried out his BSc and MSc studies in Portugal (University of Porto) with a research focus on the animal welfare of mice and zebrafish. He conducted his PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology in Portugal and the UK (University of Porto and the University of Sheffield, respectively), with a particular interest in how anesthesia affects adult zebrafish memory. He joined LabAnimal in March 2023.
