  The steroid-hormone ecdysone coordinates parallel pupariation neuromotor and morphogenetic subprograms via epidermis-to-neuron Dilp8-Lgr3 signal induction

  Pupariation in Drosophila is triggered by the steroid-hormone ecdysone and requires coordination between associated behavioral and body-reshaping motor subprograms. The authors show that coordination requires ecdysone-dependent Dilp8-Lgr3 signaling between the cuticle epidermis and interneurons.

  Tango7 regulates cortical activity of caspases during reaper-triggered changes in tissue elasticity

  Caspases are known for their role in cell death, but they can also participate in other physiological functions without killing the cells. Here the authors show that unique caspase adaptor proteins can regulate caspase activity within mutually-exclusive and independently regulated subcellular domains.

  A developmentally regulated switch from stem cells to dedifferentiation for limb muscle regeneration in newts

  How limb regeneration in the newt is regulated at a cellular level is much debated. Here, the authors show different mechanisms acting at different developmental stages, namely stem/progenitor cells in larval regeneration and muscle fibres in the blastema regulate limb regeneration after metamorphosis.
